Hip-Hop/Cultural icon Brandon McCartney, or as the public knows him as Lil B, has taken his message of positivity beyond music into the technological world with his new app: Basedmojis.

Lil B has challenged professional basketball player Kevin Durant to a one on one. He’s released over 3,000 songs in his established but young career (including a mixtape consisting of 800+ songs), and the 25-year-old residing from Berkley has made it his mission to strictly spread positivity and has been doing it flawlessly so far.

Basedmojis provides users with a number of new emojis, which are Apple’s twist on emoticons, and lets you easily either send them with email, or preferably message them to your friend.

Of course there are other apps like Emojidom or Emoji Keyboard that are pretty much the same principal. People feind for new emojis but usually turn to these apps, but when the second Basedmojis app was released,  it changed the view of how people saw emoji apps.

Maybe there are more useful apps than this, because this is just for leisure purposes. But the genius behind this app is that it’s a gateway into a new bridge of culture. Times are changing, and in a world where Pop Culture icons only really use social media, Lil B is hiring people to code apps. Any app can entertain you, but there’s only a number of apps that can break down cultural  walls and shift it as we speak.

The app is available for anyone with iOS 7.1 and above, so people who haven’t updated can still enjoy the app and share it with their friends and family, just like Lil B told fellow downloaders to do.
