What happens when multiple writers on a news staff try to tackle stories on the same topic? It might sound like a recipe for a very boring issue, but often, it’s the exact opposite. Take Nighthawk News at First Flight High School, whose editors have been wrestling with one pertinent question: who is Generation Z?

The result is a patchwork quilt of stories that tackle the complexities and complications of Generation Z from multiple angles. Here are just a few perspectives that we found particularly intriguing and articulate.

Unlike their forefathers, teenagers lack interest in government – Monica Holmes

Increase in diversity leads to decrease in religious affiliation – Kira Hicks & Mack Doebler

Generation Z continues work of generations past – Christopher Oakes & Kristina Carter

In an age of connectivity, socializing takes on whole new meaning – Sydney Holt, Kelly Weisbecker, & Mary Pat Thompson

Want more Z? Go check out their Spring 2015 issue, dedicated entirely to this very topic.
