Olivia Rodrigo just released her second album, “Guts.” This album is fun, sad, surprising, and so much more. “Guts” is available on all streaming platforms.

Some say Olivia Rodrigo is a one-hit wonder, but her newly released album “Guts” says otherwise.

Olivia shattered records with her four-time platinum debut album “Sour.” With over 50 awards earned at 20 years old, she can only get better. “Guts” is an indication that she is headed in that direction.

“Sour” has an innocent girl vibe, unlike “Guts.” In “Guts,” she exclaims that she has seen it all, seen too much, that she is not a young girl anymore, and she understands how the world works and how hard the real world is. Throughout this album she is either screaming a rock solo or playing a beautiful piano melody. The twists and turns in “Guts” relate back to life — you never know what to expect.

Out of the 12 tracks on this album, “vampire,” “logical,” and “teenage dream” stand out the most.

“Vampire” is the best way to start off an album. With its rock hard beats and Rodrigo’s vocals, the song is simply extraordinary. Fans believe “vampire” is a punch back to Taylor Swift after being sued for copyright infringement. You do not see a 20-year-old stand up to a national icon very often.

Rodrigo released “vampire” as a single and a tease for her album to come. “Vampire” released on June 30 of this year, and debuted at number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

In “logical,” the piano melody and the vocals showcase Rodrigo’s talent for being able to dig deep in her lyrics and explain a heartfelt story in just a chorus. Although “logical” is a song about her toxic ex, she finds a way to take the blame for the relationship. Rodrigo writes, “I know I’m half responsible; And that makes me feel horrible.”

“Teenage Dream” is the best way to close out an album. Most of her songs are about her toxic exes, but this is different. When you are talking about self discovery and regret, this song covers everything.

In “teenage dream” Rodrigo writes how she is sorry for disappointing people, and how she wishes that everything will get better. She explores how she has changed despite the people who keep telling her false information.

Rodrigo is taking the world by hand. Her music is relatable, true, and inspiring. She is an example for young artists and a wonder to old ones.

“Sour” was the start, and “Guts” is the foundation for her future success.
