Podcast: Mahlet Woldemariam ’95 on Vaccine Development

In the second episode of the podcast series about COVID-19 vaccines, Acting Editor-in-Chief Edan Zinn interviews clinical researcher and manager Mahlet Woldemariam ‘95 about the science behind vaccines, how vaccines are developed and clinically tested, vaccine hesitancy, and why vaccines prove helpful as a means of prevention with infectious diseases.

Woldemariam is a Global Project Manager at the pharmaceutical company Sanofi, where she works in research and development in the immunology and inflammation field for respiratory indications like Asthma and COPD. She worked in pandemic vaccines at Swiss pharmaceutical company Novartis, and worked there in vaccines and diagnostics as a clinical research scientist during the 2009 H1N1 pandemic.
