Redefining the canvas: blurring the lines between vandalism and art

Underneath a freeway overpass in San Francisco, skateboarders glide across ramps adorned with graffiti at the South of Market (SoMa) West Skatepark. Despite providing a vibrant pop of color, graffiti can be visually disorienting to skaters and can even alter the textures of ramps, depending on the type of paint used.
