The boys varsity rugby team lost two of their three games against TASIS Feb. 5 This was the team’s final home game.

Coach Ryan Erickson said the team will refer to their game against TASIS to see how they can improve in the future. “Monday, we’ll kind of review the game tape that we have, find some highlights of things we did well, applaud those and then look at things that we need to continue to work on and think about how we need to get better at,” Erickson said.
Prior to their first match, members of the boys varsity rugby team participate in a team chant. Sinan De Cabrol (’25) said the team’s poor performance in their first game motivated them to improve. “Nobody’s head was really in the game in the first one, but then we used that as like a lesson to implement better passing, better depth, kind of all the techniques we’d learned previously in practice,” De Cabrol said. Despite the slow start, Erickson said the boys varsity rugby team performed well. “It was a bit of a slow build throughout the three games, but overall, I think it was a good day because some players got a bit more playing time than they normally would,” Erickson said. De Cabrol said the team is enthusiastic. “We’re very lucky this year,” De Cabrol said. “We have a lot of spirit, a lot of, you know, hard workers in the team and we can switch from, you know, playful to serious in a matter of seconds.” (Aden Ovenden)Cade Holladay (’27) sprints with the ball. Holladay said he disagreed with the referee’s decision to rule out a point he scored. “I was pretty annoyed, especially because, like, it was clearly a try,” Holladay said.
