Local boys use St. Baldrick’s Foundation event to support sister, other cancer patients

By Kyler Messenger

Since 2005, the St. Baldrick’s Foundation events have raised over $326 million across the country for cancer research for children. When they first learned about the fundraisers, Conner Bunch, a 6th Grader at Crestview Middle School, and Gavin Bunch, a 4th Grader at Ellisville Elementary, started participating in the annual event. For the past seven years, the boys have shaved their heads to support their sister, Alexis, who was diagnosed with cancer when she was 6 years old. The Bunchs have also gotten some of their friends to join in and shave their heads.
