Red Bird Productions presents ‘The Legend of Sleepy Hollow’ as their UIL entry

Baltus Van Tassel, played by junior Davis Adams, describes to senior Aiden Gross in the role of Ichabod Crane the haunting past which the town holds. Tassel told Crane about the German spirit who was killed at a tree down the path to his house and now haunted the town.
Brom Bones, played by senior Daniel Percy, and his younger brother, played by junior Macy Langland, spy on the ongoing scene. Bones was jealous of the newcomer in town, Ichabod Crane, coming in and proposing to his girlfriend Katrina Van Tassel, played by senior Camila Chandler. The previous night, his teacher, Ichabod Crane, played by senior Aiden Gross, had been scared by the town ghost, so the schoolboy started making fun of the teacher. (Vaishali Raol)The ensemble laughs at Hans Van Ripper, played by sophomore Sierra Pichot, who accidentally fell asleep during church. Ripper was deaf in one ear and used for comedic relief. Crane had been spooked while going home from a town feast and was telling the townspeople of his peril. DeArman presented the rose she had to Bones as a gift, but he later used it to romance his girlfriend Katrina Van Tassel, played by Camila Chandler. Adams played dual roles in the story as Crayon and Baltus Van Tassel, a wealthy landowner who served as an unofficial leader of the town in the play. Crane was walking home from a town feast when he kept hearing things around him and, as a firm believer in the supernatural, was spooked. (Vaishali Raol)Senior Camila Chandler in the role of Katrina Van Tassel meets the protagonist Ichabod Crane, played by senior Aiden Gross, for the first time. Tassel is a flirtatious character who also served as a point of enmity between Crane and the town prankster Brom Bones, played by senior Daniel Percy. (Vaishali Raol)Ichabod Crane, played by senior Aiden Gross, introduces himself to the audience and gives background context on himself. Crane was a heavily superstitious teacher from Connecticut who, in contrast with his shy behavior around equals, treated his students violently. (Vaishali Raol)
